It was founded in 1998 and registered Charitable Trust. Currently the coalition CSOs work in different sectors but with a com aim of promoting constitutionalism and g governance in Kenya. As at December CRECO had a total membership of 25 C In a bid to meet its objectives, CRECO Secretariat wishes to recruit a Program Coordinator to supervise and coordinate projects under its Strategic Plan 2011 – of Civic Engagement, Human Rights and Institutional Capacity Development. Summary Of the position CRECO being a coalition network of 25 society organization and working in the Democracy & Governance Sector aims t promote constitutionalism, democratic governance and institutional developme The Programme Coordinator has the lea role in managing the various programs/ projects that CRECO is running under it three thematic areas. He/She will also h the role of planning and all operational f of activities/programs being implemente the 25 members of CRECO. Under the supervision of the Executive Secretary, the Programme Coordinator is in charge of day running of the Secretariat, and supervision of staff. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Team Leadership/Supervision In consultation with the Executive Secre i. Provide tactical and strategic guida and leadership to the programs team to ensure organizational and programme objectives are met ii. Review staff performance iii. Oversee the capacity building of t programme and other staff iv. Oversee development of advocac programmes and messages 2. Advisory/Capacity Building i. Defining programme priorities and objectives and all partners and staff to mutual understanding and ownership ii. Advising and technically supporting CRECO members on strategy, implemen and monitoring of activities iii. Training and develop capacities of CRECO members for better service deliv and advocacy iv. Creating structured opportunities to facilitate internal and partner learning f decision making, knowledge sharing and influencing good practice for partners v. Leading and guiding project monit reports, reviews and evaluations and e learning and dissemination among CREC partners and within the organization 3. Programme Management i. Managing CRECO’s programmes/acti under its new Strategic Plan 2011 – 201 produce desired results/impact. Overall responsibility for the development of implementation plans, work plans and schedules ii. Managing donor and services contr ensuring that contracts/grants design a implementation are in line with CRECO’s policies and procedures iii. Providing management and supervi support to project partners in the desig implementation of programmes. iv. Developing and/or reviewing monit evaluation, review and learning instrum and processes v. Taking part in research activities including writing research proposals, res designs, researching and compiling repo appropriate based on CRECO’s strategic mandate 4. Strategic Management/Leadership i. Developing, reviewing and overseei implementation of policy frameworks for consortium’s organs ii. Developing and reviewing CRECO’s programmes as per its Strategic Plan 20 2015 iii. Ensuring effective representation CRECO in networks involved in provision civic education and advocacy on constit and legal reforms iv. Developing links and sharing experiences with other stakeholders in to promote the mission and vision of CR 5. External Relationships/Represent i. Representing CRECO in fora and advancing its strategic interests ii. Establishing and maintaining constr working relations with key stakeholders including the Government and its institut other Civil Society organizations and networks, multilateral agencies and don iii. Building relationships with selected partner organizations and coordination other CRECO members. 6. Resource Mobilisation i. Establishing partnerships with development partners ii. Developing resourcing strategies th effectively respond to long-term and sh term programmes and organizational objectives or needs iii. Developing programme and project proposals for support in line with programmatic and organizational objects iv. Identifying and securing funding in accordance with budget targets v. Promoting the integration of CREC goals and thematic areas into donor ag by undertaking donor research and developing and maintaining effective do advocacy Qualification & Experience 1. Demonstrated experience in workin network administrative organisations (N the D&G sector is mandatory 2. Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a relev social science discipline, Masters degree be an added advantage 3. At least 5 – 7 years experience in coordination of projects/programmes wit specific emphasis on participatory comm based approaches and dissemination strategies; M&E (including quantitative, qualitative and participatory); donor rel 4. Experience in regional networking 5. Skilled in report writing, proposal w narrative and financial reporting; 6. Experience in research manageme knowledge of research methodologies 7. Proven experience in resource mobilisation 8. Experience in organisational development, capacity audit and capacit development of CSOs 9. Experience in Financial Managemen key. Competencies 1. Familiarity with concepts of sustain development, public sector management social and economic rights, social accountability and policy making 2. A solid understanding of the environment in which CRECO operates; commitment to and understanding of CR mission, vision and objectives 3. Extensive knowledge of Kenya’s governance institutions and their decisio making procedures 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswa 5. Excellent computer and analytical s 6. Willingness and ability to undertak regular field and other external visits an interact with different stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and work for long (including weekends) 7. Highly organized and detail oriente able to prioritize and produce work of a consistently high standard 8. Leadership qualities and team management 9. Excellent presentation and facilitati skills 10.
