SAP System Manager
Role
Responsible for SAP implementation
with hands on experience.
High level of programming /
technical skills in SAP and technical
systems support
Responsible for administering the
maintenance, upgrading,
performance tuning, monitoring and
security of internal Information
Systems servers of a client / server
environment.
Work consists primarily within SAP
environments.
Principal Activities and
Responsibilities:
Maintains the integrity
and security of
servers and systems .
Perform system
software upgrades
including planning /
scheduling, testing,
and coordination.
Perform workstation
and server
administration setup.
Provide
recommendations
regarding hardware
and systems software
use and purchase.
Perform data backups
and recoveries.
Perform Daily Checks
of Document & SAP
to ensure system
continuity.
Maintains operational
continuity.
Ensure compliance to
Security Policies,
Procedures, and
Controls.
Provide hands on
support for security
requirements
including
authorization
maintenance and ID
provisioning.
Assign user profiles
and roles according
to policy for levels of
authorization and
permissions.
Monitor and protect
accesses to
transactions, tables,
and programs.
Provide associated
administration
support for users;
including password
resets and other
necessary support
activities.
Develop custom
authorization objects
as required.
Implement and
configure security
tools such as CUA
and VIRSA/GRC.
Perform transport
creation/release/
move.
Provide third tier
client support as
escalated from
Helpdesk or IT
Technicians.
Interacts with third-
party technology
vendors and internal
database staff.
Other duties and
responsibilities as
required
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated
experience in SAP &
BW Basis
administration.
Demonstrated
experience in SAP &
BW Security
administration.
Experience in the use
of basic principles,
theories and
principles of
computer systems
administration.
Experience with ERP
systems (SAP BW),
Oracle database
systems and Linix/
NT operating
systems are a plus.
Qualified candidate
must be a self-starter
capable of working
independently and in
teams.
The candidate must
be detail oriented
and able to perform
in a fast paced
environment .
Ability to demonstrate
independence in
troubleshooting and
resolving issues that
may arise.
Qualifications:
MBA or Masters in
Computer Science,
MIS or other related
field.
In a medium-to-large
company: 2-3+ years
experience in as SAP
Systems Basis
Administrator.
2-3+ years
experience in as SAP
Systems Security
Administrator
